May
8, 2007

Kressler - Supervisor
Joe Lunsford - Treasurer
JoAnn Wilkie – Clerk
Bob
Davis – Trustee
Elgin Childs - Trustee
CALL TO ORDER
The Supervisor called the meeting to order with
the Pledge of Allegiance.
BUSINESS FROM FLOOR:
Jinelle Chriva was concerned about Hull Road and what road
work was being planned for it. The plans for this year are to
drain and gravel it.
Ruth Maxwell stated that a employee from the County Road Commission
came into their driveway, but never questioned them or got out
of their truck to see the water laying around their house. It
is consensus of the Board that at this time the water situation
probably is from the old drainage ditch being plugged up. It
will have to be handled with a petition from said residents
to have drainage ditch cleaned out. The Board would like to
be kept updated on the progress.
The horse situation on Hull Road will have to be sent through
Lansing to secure proper handling of the problem. The Board’s
concern is the health and welfare of horses being sent there
from unliveable situations. A report of at least six horses
dying there raises more concern of health issues there.
CLERK’S MINUTES:
The minutes had been dispensed earlier from the April 10, 2007
meeting. Bob moved to approve the minutes, Lori seconded and
motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Lori presented Treasurer's Report from Joe’s records.
Elgin moved to accept the report and Bob seconded. Motion carried.
OUTSTANDING BILLS:
A list of the outstanding bills had been dispersed earlier.
Lori moved to pay bills and Elgin seconded. A roll call vote
was called:

The new Fire Truck has been to Hope twice now. The Fire Department
has had training on it at the fire hydrant by International
Engineering. There are some modifications that need to be
done so not sure of delivery date. There will be a spaghetti
dinner fund raiser for the John Payne Family whose house burned
in March. It will be served from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Hope
Baptist Church. Brian Long has moved from the area and thus
resigned from fire department.
Meeting was held May 1 at the town hall. Dirk Maxwell has
to spray dandelions at park. Davey’s trucks have delivered
wood chips at the park. There is more than park needed so
anyone can help themselves. The path through the woods is
to narrow to haul chips to trail. Mark Stewart will see about
widening the trail. The township board was present and helped
with plans and doing some of the work this year. The annual
picnic will be July 28 from 12:00pm until 3:00pm. Jim Doepker
will check on having Jaws of Life displayed.
The next meeting will be held Aug. 1, 2007. Discussion
will be held on the Keyhole issue and 1 acre.
WATER DISTRIBUTION:
There will be a special meeting May 16, 2007 with
the engineers. May have a better idea concerning pricing. Supervisor
has contacted Gene Smith to call a water board meeting, but nothing
has happened yet. Township is waiting for survey to be sent out
to residents. The Board would like idea of how many would like
water.
CHAPEL COMMITEE:
Wilbur Havens was present and inquired on furnance. The water
drainage should be checked and made sure it is draining correctly.
A chapel meeting will be called May 17 or 31. Wilbur will check
with Floyd Andrick and get back with Commission. A fence needs
to be installed between cemetery and park properties.
