CALL TO ORDER
The Supervisor called the meeting to order with
the Pledge of Allegiance.
BUSINESS FROM FLOOR:
Supervisor reviewed the new budget and line item amounts for
residents present. The new salary amounts were reviewed.at 7:25p.m.
the public hearing was closed.
CLERK’S MINUTES:
Minues from May 8, 2007 were dispensed earlier. Bob moved and
Elgin seconded to approve the minutes. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Treasurer gave financial report and it was moved by Elgin and
seconded by Bob to accept the report. Motion carried.
OUTSTANDING BILLS:
A list of the outstanding bills had been dispersed earlier.
Elgin moved to pay bills and Bob seconded. A roll call vote
was called:

6 runs for May. The Fire Department held a spaghetti dinner
for the John Payne family. Their house was destroyed by fire.
Was a good turn out and the Fire Department donated spaghetti
that was left to places that would see people with needs would
benefit from it.
The water line from the pump house to fire hall needs replacing.
Supervisor will contact Ron Witte concerning replacing line.
Don and Diane Dice are repairing and painting the well house.
It was moved by Joe and seconded by Bob to spend up to $14,400
on the following items:

Jim will be having surgery and will be down for
six weeks. John Reisig will be acting chief until Jim returns.
The parking lot was discussed and decided it would be helpful
to put one car garage there for extra storage for Fire Department.
DOT has certified the Fire Department's trucks.
There was not a quarum so Mary and Lori met and checked on
items for Hope picnic. Pat Taylor has resigned from park.
Mary had sample to take to Staples for picnic notices. They
will be put in with tax notices. The wood chips are still
at park. Anyone wanting chips for free are welcome to get
some. It was decided that some new railroad ties are needed
for around parking lot.
Will meet on August 1, 2007. The keyhole policy
will be discussed. Other townships already have a policy in place.
Commission has a sample from one of the townships.
WATER DISTRIBUTION:
A special meeting will be called to divide the
$365,000.00 between the townships. Supervisor would like a better
honest cost to present to residents. The water board is planning
a meeting to discuss a cost estimate.
CHAPEL COMMITEE:
The chapel committee met on May 22, 2007. It was decided a
lot of repair work was needed. Plans to have brushes and trees
stumps removed was decided on and to check with three contractors
for bids to create a new section in the cemetary. Painting of
the outside and inside stairs, door framing and under pavalion
roof need done. A fence between park and cemetary was discussed
and Wilbur will look into cost and installation of it.Bob moved
to use up to $3,000.00 for fence, Elgin seconded and motion
carried.
TOWNSHIP CODE AUTHORITY:
Meeting was held May 21, 2007. Ed Gannon has stated he will
help out the Code Authority for six weeks. There is $16,638.37
in savings and $4,723.04 in checking. Next meeting is June 25
at 6:30pm in county building.
WIXOM LAKE IMPROVEMENT BOARD REPORT:
No meeting.
TOWNSHIP ROAD ADVISORY COMMISSION:
No meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
RESOLUTION AMENDING BUDGET
Whereas the budget for 2006-2007 in some instances has changed
the budgeted amounts. A resolution amending the budget was moved
by Bob Davis and seconded by Elgin Childs. A roll call vote
was polled and all voted “aye”.
NEW BUSINESS
Starleen Heath is becoming the new deputy treasurer, with the
possibility of Joe’s home being sold. It is probable that
a new treasurer will need to be ready to step in. Summer taxes
are going to be collected starting in july and Starleen can
start there with getting the needed experience. Andy Kobisa
has become supervisor’s new deputy. Joann will do the
oath of office for them. Bob moved to pay Starleen $200.00 per
month for support assistance to Joe for the months of July and
August. Motion carried.
A street light at the corner of Middle and Saiko roads was
moved by Bob and seconded by Elgin. Motion carried. Supervisor
will contact Consumer's.
Elgin moved that all interested persons that can attend the
zoning meeting at Frankenmuth on July 31, be paid for expenses.
Joe seconded and motion carried.
Meeting closed at 9:24pm.
MEETING FOR ADOPTING 2007-2008 BUDGET
Meeting opened at 9:30pm.
SALARY RESOLUTION FOR 2007-2008
The salary increases were set at 3% from present salaries.
It was moved by Elgin and seconded by Bob to adopt the foregoing
resolution. A roll call vote was polled and all voted “aye”.
No nays.
RESOLUTION TO ADOPT 2007-2008 BUDGET
Bob made a motion to adopt the budget as presented
and Elgin supported. A roll call vote was polled. All voted
“aye” and no one voted “nay”. Budget
adopted.
