BUSINESS FROM FLOOR:

Ron Thompson, Hope Township Assersor, was present to request the township split the cost for training for his continuing classes. Credits are needed to keep his assessor’s certification active. It would be $80.00 for each township. Elgin moved that the township pay the $80.00. and Bob seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Discussion was held concerning the mess left at pavalion a. It was cleaned up and decided park commission would have to decide what to do in future.

Discussion was held concerning the house on middle and shearer road. It is registered with Midland County that the chimney is unsafe.

Drainage problem by Rudy Turk’s. Rudy and Mike Kressler talked to Gumpta at Midland County Road Commission, amd he will look into whose right away it is - the county drain commission or county road commission. Report next month.

TOWNSHIP ZONING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER:

Mike checked with Tom Clark and he is available to be our zoning officer.

Minutes were dispersed earlier. Bob moved and Elgin seconded the motion. Motion carried

TREASURER’S REPORT:

The financial report was dispersed earlier, and it was moved by Bob to accept the financial report. Elgin seconded and motion carried.

FIRE DEPARTMENT:

Fire chief reported that the fire hall paint job is very satisfactory. The roof has three coats of paint and should hold up for years. There was two runs in July. Reported chief has new fire truck VIN. The chassis will be built on July 14. Someone has donated a new refrigerator to fire hall. Old one was having problems. Added bills for $23.41 and $366.50 totalling $389.91. Moved by Elgin to pay and seconded by Joe, motion carried.

PARK COMMISSION:

Bills were turned in for $300.00 for refinish tables, $27.00, $30.00 and $150.00. Concrete approach and riding lawnmower repairs. Need snow blower literature, mark stewart will check on.

PLANNING COMMISSION:

Bob Davis reported for planning commission. Next meeting will be November. Jim stated one acre is all needed to build. Elgin questioned if this had been changed

WATER DISTRIBUTION:

Mike reported the water district is close to an agreement with City of Midland. This is needed before progress can be started.

CHAPEL COMMITEE:

Wilbur reported no meeting had been held yet. All members have been busy so no meeting could be scheduled.

TOWNSHIP CODE AUTHORITY:

Jeannie Shauger has resigned as secretary and Dan Schlgel will take her place. Savings - $14,451.28 and checking - $4,623.99. Elgin reported there is a big response for secretary position. Next meeting will be 8/28/06. Bob will be covering meeting for Elgin.

WIXOM LAKE IMPROVEMENT BOARD REPORT:

No report.

TOWNSHIP ROAD ADVISORY COMMISSION:

Jim reorted no new business to report. Road work is going good. Wendt Road and Baker Road will be paved.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Midland Fair: Cathy Braley & Joe Lunsford will be there 4-6 and Elgin, Bob and Mike from 6-9:00pm.

Midland tomorrow has requested financial support of $257.00 for one year. Elgin moved and Bob seconded motion. Motion carried.

Joe reported he has called Consumers concerning new street light on corner of Hull and Wendt. No response.

Township has been invited to participate in Sanford Founder’s Day Parade. Held on 9/9/06.

Discussion was held concerning water debt water contract for Edenville $28,000.00 left. Was decided to table this issue until next month.

Lori brought to the boards attention that the house on Bombay Road is being occupied. Supervisor will check into the situation.
