  5. FIRE DEPARTMENT:

There were 2 fire runs in January. Jim had a fire truck here from Circle K for inspection. Later discussion was concerned about getting two more bids as this is required from the state. There will be training at the Homer Training Center. Five people are attending from the Fire Department. The fire extinguishers need to be checked and a new one was purchased. Jim noted the town hall and chapel needed to be inspected also. The Fire Department Millage is up and needs to go on the August election. The wording has to be verified and when it needs to be into the County Clerk to be on ballot.

  6. PARK COMMISSION:

Pat Taylor is working on grants for the park. One grant would be a large one and fulfill some of the larger purchases the Park Commission has wanted. Steven Braley has been selected to be Caretaker for the year. He finished the park last season and did good job. Also, deciding whether to charge a fee for non-residential people.

  7. PLANNING COMMISSION:

A resident on Stark Road would like to apply for a dog kennel. Required paperwork will be supplied to him to apply for a special use permit. Thomas Shores property owners are concerned about not having “keyhole development” in our ordinance. Mike Kressler has given members wording of what other townships have in their ordinances. More will be discussed at the next meeting, which will be April 5, 2006, and to go over any possible changes to zoning ordinance.

  8. WATER DISTRIBUTION:

Lee and Mills continue to work towards funding and how many residents actually want water. Hope will be interested in water when it is available, but only if residents show they are acceptable to it.
