Hope Township Board Meeting
June 13, 2006

CALL TO ORDER

The Supervisor called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The public budget hearing was opened at 7:00pm

BUSINESS FROM FLOOR:

Jon Lauderbach was present and gave presentation as why he would make a great judge.

Discussion was held concerning the light on Five Mile Road going into Thomas Shores. It has been moved back into woods further, but is still noticiable. Supervisor will check on.

The treasurer, Joe Lunsford reviewed the proposed budget and the line items for general, fire and solid waste.

Public comments:

J.D. Brooks was present at this time and presented his history, and why he is running for office.

Public hearing was adjourned at 7:50pm.

Regular board meeting called to order: at 7:55pm

CLERK’S MINUTES:

Minutes had been dispersed before meeting. Joe moved to approve minutes and Bob seconded. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Treasurer's Report had been dispersed earlier. Elgin moved and Bob seconded to accept report.

Elgin moved to pay the outstanding bills and bob seconded it, and a roll call vote was polled:

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

FIRE DEPARTMENT:

The Fire Chief thanked Mike and Bob for fixing water problem at fire station. A tire problem was fixed by Tom’s Service, which is a requirement of the DOT. Richard Wallace has been added to the Fire Department Roster. In May there were eno runs. The progress report on the new fire truck is that it is not started yet. Maybe eight months out yet.

PARK COMMISSION:

Jim will spray for weeds in spring. The engraved ink pens are in for park picnic. July 6, there will be a meeting at the park pavalion.

PLANNING COMMISSION:

The next meeting will be held August 2 at 7:00pm at the town hall. Mike has given planning commission articles concerning keyholing. MTA is holding a seminair concerning the state overseeing the zoning ordinances of the townships, Mike and Bob will attend.

WATER DISTRIBUTION:
Water District #1 is waiting for contract from city. At that point the townships that are interested in more water lines should have their water petitions done. Will probably have to go door to door for signatures.

CHAPEL COMMITEE:

Working on new rules. Harold Havens is working on books for cemetery. A meeting is being planned as soon as all can meet.

TOWNSHIP CODE AUTHORITY:

May 22, 06 was last meeting. Bob yahrmart is new chairperson. Financial report was $14,406.33 in savings. Checking was $5,572.56. Bob will attend next meeting June 26, 06 at county building.

AMENDED 2005-2006 BUDGET:

The budget was amended for the out of budget items. The resolution is attachted to clerk’s copy.

Rudy Turk is still having a drainage water problem. The board felt it may be necessary to talk with Gene Smith for suggestions to a solution.
