Hope Township Board Meeting
December 12, 2006

CALL TO ORDER

The Supervisor called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The public budget hearing was opened at 7:00pm

BUSINESS FROM FLOOR:

Lori Childs brought in two bids for remodeling of the Townhall. George Owens and Micheal Lincoln were the two bidders. The board decided to go with Lincoln as his bid was more complete and covered materials also. Owens bid was labor only. Bob made motion to accept Lincoln’s bid and expense could go up to $9,000.00, Joe seconded motion. A roll call vote was polled:

Lori will let Micheal know the project should be completed by March 31, 2007.

CLERK’S MINUTES:

1) Stark to Dublin no asphalt
2) Hull Road will not be repaved,
Fire dept. Paid for half of well repair bill. It equalled $212.50.Joe moved to accept minutes and Bob second motion. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Joe reported he will be moving water line money into a separate account. It will be easier to keep accountable for it. Elgin made the motion to move money and Bob seconded. Motion carried.

Erskine Marina has their own trash container and pay to have it emptied. Joe made the motion to remove them from our solid waste list and Bob seconded motion. Motion carried.

Solid waste fees removed from property taxes was brought up again. It is the boards policy that we can not legally do any pro-rating nor remove trash fees from homesteads with dwellings that are livable. Elgin moved and Bob seconded, motion carried.

OUTSTANDING BILLS:

The bill for the township drain’s was $2,741.45. Bob made motion to pay the bill and Elgin seconded. A roll call vote was called:

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

FIRE DEPARTMENT:

 

Seven runs for December, which included two good intents. The new fire truck chassiss is due in Midland by mid-January. The body is due in from Florida at he same time. The state provided a new computer and printer for fire depts. At this time there is a problem with them and are not usuable. Fire chief requested $500.00 for petty cash, it was so moved by Joe and Bob seconded motion carried.

PARK COMMISSION:

Had a short meeting. There will be no January meeting. Will meet again on February 6, 2007. Park will be seeking a new Caretaker this year

PLANNING COMMISSION:
No meeting.

WATER DISTRIBUTION:
The Water District met with the rural development group to see if any possibilities of grants for contiuing water towards Hope and Edenville.
CHAPEL COMMITEE:

Andricks are finished removing trees. Mike will check with Pat’s Gradeall for removing stumps to keep area cleared.

TOWNSHIP CODE AUTHORITY:

Meeting was November 27, 2006. There is $17,316.87 and checking is $5,296.89. Jeanne Shauger had her last day at TCA. There will be a special meeting December 11, 2006. There will be no Treasurer Report as the new Treasurer has not taken over the books yet. Will be setting dates for next years meetings. January 22, 2007 will be next meeting.

WIXOM LAKE IMPROVEMENT BOARD REPORT:

No business


TOWNSHIP ROAD ADVISORY COMMISSION:

Jim has turned in the road work to be done in 2007 to the road commission.

NEW BUSINESS

Board discussion on the dinner meeting at Holiday Inn. Decided a letter should be sent to officers to let them know of disorganization and running out of food. Situation should be addressed. Clerk will send letter to committee.
